How to score high on geography questions

Every question accepts many answers — our Countries & Places questions have dozens each, including alternative names and spellings. The first answer that comes to mind is usually the one most players give, so it scores only a few points. Take a second to go one step further: an older title, a smaller team, a less famous country, a band from another decade.

  • Wrong answers before the clock runs out are not recorded — you can try another one.
  • Each question is 25 seconds. When time is up, whatever you typed is submitted.
  • Your result card shows your gems, how you compare with today's players and a countdown to tomorrow's set.

How does daily geography trivia work?

Every day at 00:00 UTC everyone gets the same 5 geography questions, such as "Name a country in Africa". You have 25 seconds per question to type one correct answer. The fewer players who gave the same answer, the more points you score — up to 100 per question.

What counts as a rare answer?

Your answer must be correct. If 10% of players gave it, it is worth about 33 points; 1% about 67; 0.1% or less the full 100. Spelling is forgiving and common alternative names are accepted.
