Far Corners · Unlimited

5 prompts. Name a country that fits — the further off the beaten path, the bigger the gem.

In short: Farflung itself is a once-a-day game. To keep playing, use Far Corners Unlimited above: same idea (pin the rarest country that fits), new random round every time, free, no sign-up. Your best unlimited score is saved in this browser; the daily map and its streak are still there when you want them.

Cheat sheet: the countries that fit the most prompts

We counted every answer in all 52 Far Corners prompts. Two lists are worth learning before you grind unlimited rounds: the countries that fit the most prompts (safe picks when you are stuck), and the ones that most often sit in the rarest third of an answer list (where the big gems are).

2 countries never appear as an answer in the current bank. Lists are computed from the live question bank, so they update when prompts are added.

How to get better in unlimited mode

  1. Play one round for speed. Pin the first correct country you think of, just to see the full answer map after each prompt.
  2. Play the next round for rarity. Before pinning, name the crowd answer in your head and skip it. Aim for a Sapphire or better on every prompt.
  3. Read the gold pins. After each prompt the three rarest valid countries glow gold. Those are the ones to remember for next time.
  4. Fill your blind spots. If you keep missing the Pacific, the Caucasus or West Africa, do a few rounds thinking only about that region.

Questions people ask

Is there an official Farflung unlimited mode?

The original Farflung (farflung.game) is built around its daily map. This page is an unofficial, free alternative: Far Corners Unlimited deals a new 5-prompt round every time you press Start, with no limit and no account.

Are these the official Farflung prompts?

No. Far Corners uses its own bank of 52 prompts written for Rarest Answer, so it is good practice for Farflung-style thinking without repeating or spoiling the original.

Do unlimited rounds count toward my streak?

No. Only the daily map counts for the streak. Unlimited keeps your best round in this browser so you can try to beat it.

How is an unlimited round scored?

Same as the daily: 5 prompts, 45 seconds each. The most-named valid country scores 20, the least-named scores 100, a wrong or repeated country scores 0, so the maximum is 500.

Can rounds repeat?

Each round draws 5 prompts at random from 52, so you will start to see familiar prompts after a few dozen rounds — that is when learning the rarer answers pays off.
